Osias is the Greek and Latin form of two Old Testament names: Hosea, the prophet, from the Hebrew word for "salvation", and Uzziah, the king of Judah, meaning "my strength is the Lord". It appears in Spanish, Portuguese and French Bibles and sits comfortably beside Elias and Tobias. Osias had fewer than five births in 2000, hovered between number 3100 and number 5200 over the past decade and reaches its best rank in 2025 at number 2921 with 43 births.
