Tobias is the Greek form of the Hebrew Toviyah and means "God is good" or "the Lord is good". The Book of Tobit tells the story of young Tobias, who travels with the archangel Raphael and cures his father's blindness. In the United States Tobias has stayed in the top 1000 throughout this century, rising from number 586 in 2000 to a peak of 246 in 2016 and holding steady at 283 in 2025.
