Ozzie is a nickname for Oswald, Osborn and Oscar, and in the case of Oswald it carries the Old English meaning "divine power" or "god ruler". It belongs to the gang of friendly vintage nicknames that includes Ollie and Archie, and Americans know it from baseball great Ozzie Smith and rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzie has climbed from number 2343 in 2015 to number 1376 in 2023 and ranks 1455 among US boys' names in 2025.
