Yitzchak is the Hebrew form of Isaac, the son of Abraham and Sarah; the name means "he will laugh" or "he laughs", after Sarah's laughter when told she would bear a child in old age. This spelling is used in Orthodox Jewish families, and its most famous modern bearer was Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin. In the United States Yitzchak stood at number 2732 in 2000, reached its best rank of number 2352 in 2022 and is number 2514 among boys' names in 2025.
