Rosalyn is a modern English spelling of Rosalind, which the Normans brought to England from the Germanic hros and lind, "gentle horse"; it was soon reinterpreted through the Spanish rosa linda as "beautiful rose". Rosalynn Carter, wife of President Jimmy Carter, is the best-known American bearer of the sound. Rosalyn returned to the US top 1000 in 2014, peaked at number 833 in 2021 and ranks number 1051 in 2025.
