Rosalie is the French form of the Latin Rosalia and means "rose"; it was spread by Saint Rosalia, the hermit who is the patron of Palermo. The vampire Rosalie Hale in the Twilight books and films reintroduced it to American parents, and its vintage charm has kept it rising ever since. Rosalie entered the US top 1000 in 2009 and has climbed from number 266 in 2015 to number 171 in 2025, its best rank so far.
