Rosalia is a Latin name derived from rosa and means "rose"; it also recalls the Rosalia, the ancient Roman festival of roses laid on graves. Saint Rosalia, a 12th-century hermit, is the patron of Palermo, and the Spanish singer Rosalía has given the name global reach. Rosalia was rare in the United States for decades, entered the top 1000 in 2020, peaked at number 580 in 2023 and ranks number 609 in 2025.
