Oziah is a modern American name modeled on biblical names such as Josiah and Uzziah, the Judean king whose Hebrew name means "my strength is the Lord". The short Oz- opening gives it a punchy, contemporary sound that the older forms lack. Oziah has climbed every year from number 4846 in 2015 to number 1833 in 2025, its best rank so far, with 87 boys given the name.
