Obadiah is a Hebrew name that means "servant of Yahweh" and belongs to a minor prophet whose book is the shortest in the Old Testament. It was a Puritan favorite in colonial New England and has the long, bearded charm that has brought back Josiah, Ezekiel and Jedidiah. Obadiah has risen gently in the United States from number 2662 in 2000 to a peak of number 1414 in 2024 and ranks at number 1630 in 2025.
