Mazikeen comes from the Hebrew mazzikin, a word in the Talmud for "harmful spirits" or demons, and entered the name pool through the demon character Mazikeen, nicknamed Maze, in the comic book and TV series Lucifer. Almost no girl bore the name before the show aired in 2016. Mazikeen broke into the US top 1000 in 2020, peaked at number 941 in 2021 and has settled at number 1626 in 2025.
