Jazmin is a Spanish-influenced spelling of Jasmine, the name of the fragrant climbing flower, which comes from the Persian yasamin and simply means "jasmine". The Z spelling matches the Spanish word jazmín and became popular in Hispanic families after Disney's Aladdin gave the world Princess Jasmine in 1992. Jazmin ranked number 227 in the United States in 2000, peaked at number 155 in 2006 and has slipped to number 710 in 2025.
