Dayana is a Spanish phonetic spelling of Diana, the Roman goddess of the moon and the hunt, whose name is usually explained as "divine" or "heavenly", from the Latin divus. The spelling with -ay- became popular in Latin America in the 1990s, partly through the lasting fame of Princess Diana, and it is used in the United States mainly by Hispanic families. Dayana ranked number 883 in 2000, peaked at number 412 in 2008 and ranks number 716 in 2025.
