Azarias is the Greek and Latin form of Azariah, a Hebrew name that means "Yahweh has helped"; in the Book of Daniel it is the Hebrew name of Abednego, one of the three young men in the fiery furnace. The Spanish form Azarias is used in Hispanic families. In the United States it stood at number 9196 in 2000 and climbed to number 2997 in 2025, its best rank so far.
