Yasin is an Arabic name taken from Ya-Sin, the two letters that open the 36th chapter of the Quran, which is traditionally called "the heart of the Quran". The name has no literal translation but is widely understood as a title of the Prophet Muhammad, which makes it a devout choice across the Muslim world, from Turkey to Pakistan. In the United States Yasin has edged up from number 2,173 in 2000 to number 1,240 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
