Yaseen is an Arabic name taken from Ya Sin, the two letters that open the 36th chapter of the Quran, which is also one of the titles given to the Prophet Muhammad; its literal meaning is unknown, so it is usually glossed simply as "Ya Sin" or "chapter of the Quran". The spelling Yasin is common in Turkey and the Balkans. In the United States Yaseen has hovered just outside the top 1000 for years and reached number 1033 in 2025, its highest rank to date.
