Violette is the French form of Violet, which comes from the Latin viola and names the small purple flower, so it means "violet". The extra ending gives the Victorian flower name a French accent in the manner of Colette and Juliette. Violette rose from number 1218 in 2015 to the top 1000 in 2023 and reached number 894 in 2025, its highest rank so far.
