Vivienne is the French form of Vivian, from the Latin vivus, and means "alive" or "lively". Designer Vivienne Westwood carried the name for decades, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's choice of it for their daughter in 2008 set off its American rise. Vivienne entered the US top 1000 in 2009, hovered between number 230 and 315 for a decade and has jumped to number 172 in 2025, its best rank so far.
