Violeta is the Spanish, Romanian and Bulgarian form of Violet and comes from the Latin viola, the "violet" flower that has stood for modesty and faithfulness since the Middle Ages. The Chilean folk singer Violeta Parra is the name's most famous bearer in the Spanish-speaking world. In the United States Violeta was number 1152 in 2015, entered the top 1000 in 2018 and has risen to 641 in 2025, its best rank so far.
