Victoria is the Latin word for "victory" and the name of the Roman goddess of victory. Queen Victoria, who reigned over Britain for 63 years and gave her name to an entire era, made it one of the great royal names, and it is equally at home in Spanish-speaking families. Victoria has been in the top 60 in the United States throughout this century: number 20 in 2000, number 19 at its peak in 2014 and number 54 among girls in 2025.
