Veera is the Finnish form of Vera, the Russian name that means "faith", and at the same time an Indian name from the Sanskrit vira, "brave" or "heroic". The double heritage means it is chosen both by Scandinavian-minded parents and by Tamil- and Hindi-speaking families. In the United States Veera has crept up from number 4,223 in 2015 to number 2,688 in 2025, its highest rank, with 65 births.
