Mina is a short form of Wilhelmina, the Germanic name that means "resolute protector", and has become a name in its own right; in Persian the word mina means "azure" or "enamel", and the name is used in Japan and Korea as well. Bram Stoker gave it to Mina Harker, the heroine of Dracula. In the United States Mina has been in the top 1000 since 2004, peaked at number 586 in 2023 and ranks number 597 in 2025.
