Titus is a Roman praenomen of uncertain origin, sometimes linked to the Latin titulus, "title of honor", or explained as "defender". The emperor Titus completed the Colosseum, Paul addressed an epistle to a companion named Titus, and Shakespeare used it in Titus Andronicus. In the United States Titus rose from number 628 in 2000 to a peak of number 280 in 2015 and ranks number 358 in 2025.
