Solana is a Spanish word and surname that means "sunny place" or "sunshine", the side of a house or hill that catches the sun, from sol, sun. As a first name it is a 21st-century choice that fits the trend for bright, nature-flavored names like Luna and Sol. Solana entered the US top 1000 in 2023 and has climbed fast, from number 934 that year to number 495 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
