Shloimy is the Yiddish pet form of Shlomo, the Hebrew name of King Solomon, and means "peace" or "peaceful", from shalom. The oi vowel reflects the Ashkenazi pronunciation used in Hasidic and Orthodox communities, where the name is common alongside Moshe, Yosef and Chaim. In the United States Shloimy had fewer than five births in 2000, has moved between number 2700 and 4900 over the past decade and reaches its best rank, number 2445, in 2025 with 56 boys.
