Priscilla is a Latin diminutive of Prisca and means "ancient" or "venerable". In the New Testament Priscilla and her husband Aquila were early Christian missionaries and friends of Paul; in modern America the name is tied to Priscilla Presley. Priscilla ranked number 273 in 2000 and has slipped gradually to number 544 among girls' names in 2025.
