Patricia is the feminine form of the Latin Patricius and means "noble" or "patrician", a member of the Roman aristocracy. It was among the top five girls' names in the United States for three decades, from the 1930s through the 1950s, and gave the country countless Pats, Patsys and Trishes. Patricia still ranked number 226 in 2000, slipped out of the top 1000 in 2020 and stands at number 1336 in 2025.
