Lukah is a modern spelling of Luka and Luca, the Slavic and Italian forms of Luke, which comes from the Greek Loukas and means "man from Lucania", a region of southern Italy; it has long been associated with the Latin lux, "light". The added h follows the style of names like Noah and Micah. Lukah was too rare to be recorded in 2000; it rose to number 1762 in 2020 and ranked number 2272 among US boys in 2025.
