Kacen is a modern American coinage in the Kason and Cason family; it has no traditional meaning and is sometimes connected to the Irish surname Casey, "vigilant" or "watchful". The c in the middle sets it apart from the more common Kasen and Kaysen. Kacen rose from number 9689 in 2000 to a peak of number 1012 in 2019 and has since slipped to number 1566 in 2025.
