Kaysen is a "modern coinage" with no traditional meaning: it belongs to the family of invented K-names such as Kayson, Kason and Kashton, built on the popular -son and -sen endings and the sound of Kai and Jayce. Its appeal lies in sound and spelling rather than history. Kaysen was almost unheard of in 2000, entered the US top 1000 in 2012 and has climbed to number 415 in 2025, its best rank so far.
