Kaycen is a modern American coinage, a respelling of Kason or Kaysen that combines the popular Kay- opening with the -son ending of Jason and Mason; it has no traditional meaning and is best read as "son of Kay" by analogy. It belongs to the large family of Kayden, Kaysen and Kason variants that spread in the 2010s. Kaycen rose from number 2315 in 2015 to number 974 among boys' names in 2025, its first year in the US top 1000.
