Kaiden is a modern American spelling of Caden, a name that grew out of the Irish surname Mac Cadáin, "son of Cadán", and is usually explained as "little battle" or "fighter". Its rise owes most to the sound: it rhymes with Aiden, Jayden and Brayden, the dominant pattern for American boys' names in the 2000s. Kaiden rose from number 838 in 2000 to a peak of number 122 in 2013 and ranks number 237 among boys' names in 2025.
