Dangelo is an American form of the Italian surname D'Angelo, meaning "son of Angelo" or "of the angel", from the Greek angelos, "messenger". It spread as a given name in the 1990s, partly through R&B singer D'Angelo, and the apostrophe-free spelling followed the pattern of Deandre and Demarcus. In the United States Dangelo peaked at number 530 in 2000 and has since slipped to number 1154 in 2025.
