Deandre is a modern American name built from the prefix De- and Andre, the French form of Andrew, which comes from the Greek andreios and means "manly" or "brave". It arose in African American communities in the 1970s alongside Deshawn and Demarcus and is sometimes written DeAndre. In the United States Deandre ranked number 293 in 2000, has hovered around the top 1000 line since 2022 and stands at number 1178 in 2025.
