Angelo is the Italian form of the Late Latin Angelus, from the Greek angelos, and means "angel" or "messenger". It has been a staple of Italian American families for generations and is used in Spanish-speaking communities as well. Angelo is remarkably constant in the United States: number 303 in 2000, a peak of 257 in 2005 and 304th place among boys' names in 2025.
