Crystal is an English word name from the Greek krystallos, "ice" or "clear rock crystal", and stands for clarity and sparkle. It was a top 20 name in the United States in the early 1980s, helped along by the glamorous Krystle Carrington on the TV series Dynasty. Crystal still ranked number 132 in 2000, dropped out of the top 1000 in 2022 and stands at number 1145 in 2025.
