Christina is the Latin feminine form of Christian and means "follower of Christ" or simply "Christian". Queen Christina of Sweden, who gave up her throne in 1654 and moved to Rome, is its most famous historical bearer, and the singer Christina Aguilera carried it into pop culture. In the United States Christina was a top 100 name for decades and still ranked number 73 in 2000, but it has since slid out of favor, from number 333 in 2015 to number 770 in 2025.
