Aritzel is a modern coinage used by Mexican American families, best understood as a blend of the Ari- sound of Ariadna and Aranza with Itzel, the popular name derived from the Maya goddess Ixchel. It has no traditional meaning of its own and is chosen as a "name blend" for its sound. Aritzel was extremely rare until recently, ranking number 5640 in 2024, and jumped to number 1518 in 2025, its best position by far.
