Ari is a Hebrew name meaning "lion", and it also serves as a short form of Ariel, Aristotle and other names; in Old Norse Ari means "eagle". Its short, open sound has made it a favorite across Jewish, Greek, Scandinavian and American families alike. In the United States Ari has ranked in the top 1000 all century, improved from number 789 in 2000 to a peak of number 328 in 2022 and holds number 393 in 2025.
