Ammon is a name from the Book of Mormon, where it belongs to a missionary who served among the Lamanites, and it also appears in the Bible as the ancestor of the Ammonites, usually explained as "son of my people" or "faithful". It is used almost exclusively in Latter-day Saint families, especially in Utah and Idaho. Ammon peaked at number 1098 among US boys in 2002 and has slipped to number 2798 in 2025.
