Boaz is a Hebrew name usually explained as "swiftness" or "in him is strength". In the Book of Ruth, Boaz is the wealthy landowner who marries Ruth and becomes the great-grandfather of King David, and one of the two bronze pillars of Solomon's temple bore his name. Long rare in America, Boaz climbed from number 1308 in 2015 to number 1011 in 2024 and entered the top 1000 for the first time in 2025 at number 891.
