Amiyah is a modern American spelling of Amiya and Amaya, names of uncertain origin that are usually explained through the Basque Amaia, "the end", the Japanese Amaya, "night rain", or as an elaboration of Amy, "beloved". The -iyah ending follows the pattern of Aaliyah and Aniyah that was popular in the 2000s. Amiyah entered the top 1000 in 2003, peaked at number 256 in 2016 and ranks number 620 in 2025.
