Amayah is an American spelling of Amaya, a name with two separate roots: in Spain it comes from the Basque village Amaia, usually explained as "the end" or "end of a journey", while in Japanese Amaya can be read as "night rain". The added h gives it the look of Aaliyah and Nevaeh. Amayah entered the US top 1000 in 2022, reached number 700 in 2024 and ranks number 841 among girls in 2025.
