Nevaeh is the word "heaven" spelled backwards, a modern American invention that became famous in 2000 when Sonny Sandoval, the singer of the band P.O.D., named his daughter Nevaeh on television. Within five years it had become one of the most talked-about new names in the country. Nevaeh entered the US top 1000 in 2001, peaked at number 25 in 2010 and stayed in the top 100 through 2022; it ranks 165th in 2025.
