Adelyn is a modern American form of Adeline, which goes back to the Germanic adal and means "noble" or "of noble kind". The -lyn ending gives it the sound of Evelyn and Brooklyn, and it rose together with Adalyn, Adalynn and Addison in the 2000s. Adelyn entered the US top 1000 in 2007, peaked at number 194 in 2016 and ranks number 355 in 2025.
