Zyion is a modern spelling of Zion, the Hebrew name of the hill of Jerusalem that came to stand for the holy city and the promised land; its original meaning is uncertain but is often given as "fortress" or "highest point". The y adds a contemporary twist, as in Zyair and Zyon. Zyion peaked at number 1,634 in 2011 and has held between number 1,800 and 2,400 for a decade, ranking number 2,717 in 2025 with 48 births.
