Zayne is a spelling variant of Zane and Zayn and draws on two sources: Zane, an American name of uncertain origin that is often explained as a form of John, and the Arabic Zayn, which means "beauty" or "grace". Singer Zayn Malik of One Direction made the sound hugely familiar in the 2010s. Zayne entered the US top 1000 in 2006, peaked at number 376 in 2021 and ranks number 473 in 2025.
