Zakaria is the Arabic form of Zechariah, from the Hebrew Zekharyah, which means "God remembers". In the Quran, Zakariya is a prophet and the father of Yahya, John the Baptist, so the name is shared by Muslims, Christians and Jews. It is used in Arab American, North African and Somali American families; Zakaria peaked at number 1263 in 2017 and ranks number 1528 in 2025.
