Yeshaya is the Hebrew form of Isaiah and means "Yahweh is salvation"; it is the name of the great prophet whose book is read at Advent and Yom Kippur alike. In the United States it is used almost entirely by Orthodox Jewish families, who often shorten it to Shaya. Yeshaya stood at number 5573 in 2000, climbed to its best rank of 2911 in 2024 and sits at number 2988 in 2025.
