Yamilet is a Latin American name, a variant of Yamila or Jamila, which comes from the Arabic jamil and means "beautiful". It arrived in Spanish through the Arab heritage of Lebanese and Syrian immigrants in Latin America and became popular in Mexico and Central America. In the United States Yamilet entered the top 1000 at number 841 in 2000, its best year, and has gradually declined since to number 2237 in 2025.
