Jamila is an Arabic name meaning "beautiful" or "graceful", the feminine form of Jamil. It is used throughout the Muslim world and in East Africa, and in the United States it has been part of African American naming since the 1970s. The name has stayed in a narrow band for decades: number 1624 in 2000, a peak of number 1351 in 2018 and number 1686 in 2025.
